How did you get to join BCP?

After 12 years of corporate banking, I was interested in shifting my career towards a niche where I could leverage the expertise gained throughout this time; and advisory was a natural choice. During those days, I had the opportunity to meet Tudor Mafteianu, the founder of Blu Capital Partners. It only took a couple of fruitful interactions to understand that Blu CP, a boutique investment banking firm, was perfectly matching my career aims. Enthusiastic about Tudor's vision and commitment, backed by a relevant track record, I decided to join a team that helps its customers attain the next level in corporate finance.

What is the most fulfilling part of your job?

There are countless fulfilling aspects of a profession that is so customer-centric and dynamic. Just to mention some of them, the satisfaction of customers for which we secured the right deal, with the right investor, is priceless. Also, the numerous interactions along the way, with C-level executives, finance professionals, entrepreneurs, and founders contribute to an exquisite experience that builds know-how, foster relationship, and enlarges perspectives.

What advice would you share with someone considering a career with BCP?

Make the most of this opportunity! There are numerous things you will learn at BCP, as you will be part of a team where every opinion is valued. At BCP each team member is assigned certain parts of a project, so you will navigate through the entire deal cycle and benefit from multi-lateral exposure. You need to be passionate, and keen to assimilate new information within this highly dynamic environment.

We are efficient because we streamline our processes and count on the team’s input at any time. How did you get to join BCP?

I joined BCP in my first year at Bocconi because I wanted true, hands-on IB exposure on live deals. Everyone I spoke with in Blu’s alumni network highlighted the firm’s professionalism, lean teams, and real responsibility. It became clear this was the place where I where I want to start my career in Investment Banking: a platform that matched my drive and deepened my passion for the field.

What is the most fulfilling part of your job?

The most fulfilling part of my job is the responsibility I’ve been trusted with. I’ve learned an extraordinary amount every day throughout the internship, and that growth has been possible precisely because my colleagues put real ownership in my hands. I’ve faced new challenges daily and worked across a wide range of tasks that have both taught me and disciplined me, while making me feel part of an ecosystem that genuinely matters.

What advice would you share with someone considering a career with BCP?

If you’re passionate about the sector, go for it. At BCP you’ll be surrounded by people who share that passion and look for peers who match their drive. It’s fast-paced and demanding, but the learning curve is phenomenal. This is a people business, and the team lives by that, offering guidance, support, and real responsibility. If you want to be a team player, Blu is a very cool team to play on.

What do you think is unique about BCP?

BCP is unique in how it blends a high bar of professionalism with a genuinely supportive culture. The office environment is hard to overstate: you work in focused teams across multiple live mandates, learn from each other every day, and still feel part of a like-minded community. Finding a place where you truly belong matters. I felt that here from day one, because of the team and how they bring you along.

What did you do after BCP and how did your role BCP help in your career?

I’m heading back to Bocconi to start my second year in the BSc in International Economics and Finance, while interviewing for Summer 2026 roles with bulge-bracket and elite-boutique banks in London and Paris. My internship at Blu was instrumental in my career prospects. As my first real exposure to investment banking, it showed me there is a lot of passion in the business, and it helped me develop and express my own.

How did you get to join BCP?

After graduating from my bachelor's degree, I was seeking career opportunities back at home in the financial sector. I was surprised to find an internship opportunity at an independent investment banking boutique firm in Romania. Hence, after passing several rounds of interviews and completing a case study, I became part of what I call "my second family". The internship period was a valuable experience for me, being exposed to client projects and having to assume responsibility for my tasks from day 1. Having achieved established goals, I am now working as a full-time Analyst in the Bucharest office.

What was the most fulfilling and exciting part of your job?

There is a certain rush when I start my mornings – everyday I get to positively contribute to the success of our clients and our firm through conducting relevant analyses, participating in client discussions and overseeing operational activities. Task assignment rotation allows me to take part and have a complete view of all the projects that the firm is engaged with. My input is always requested and valued - we have a team player approach to culture and everyone is encouraged to put in 100%. This is what truly distinguishes BCP from other firms: everyone has a voice and decisions are always made collaboratively. What is more, our agile way of working provides us with the possibility to respond to client needs in real time.

What advice would you share with someone considering a career at BCP?

Ask questions early and be as involved as possible. Seek a mentor. I was fortunate enough to have my colleagues, as my guide to breaking into investment banking and understanding my responsibilities. Don't be afraid to speak up and provide input, if valuable - we achieve the best fit with those players that show initiative and dedication. Most importantly, make life-long friends.

What do you think was unique about BCP?

Definitely the ""team"" feeling. I was lucky enough to find my best friends within the firm, people I look up to and from whom I have a lot to learn. I appreciate the knowledge sharing mechanisms put in place and the moments of laugh we share together at all times. It's such a warm environment - I feel supported, cherished and uplifted everyday, encouraged to become my best self on both a professional and personal level.

What did you do after BCP and how did your role BCP help in your career?

After BCP I joined Morphosis Capital as a Investment Analyst, afterwards I started working as a Business Development Specialist at Test Trading SRL.

How did you get to join BCP?

After completing my mathematics degree at Cambridge University, I explored career options in finance. During this time, I attended several networking events where I had the opportunity to connect with individuals from BCP. I was thrilled to discover that BCP was seeking an intern and decided to apply. After a series of interviews and a case study assessment, I was offered a position and gladly joined the team.

What was the most fulfilling and exciting part of your job?

The most fulfilling aspect of my job is the dynamic nature it offers. I thoroughly enjoy engaging with various facets of the industry, constantly challenging myself to improve. Working at BCP has allowed me to acquire a diverse set of skills, which complements my mathematical background. The continuous learning and growth opportunities I encounter on a daily basis make my job incredibly rewarding.

What do you think was unique about BCP?

I would advise someone considering a career with BCP to be prepared for a fast-paced and dynamic environment that demands adaptability and a willingness to continuously learn and grow.

What did you do after BCP and how did your role BCP help in your career?

After BCP I started working at Phi Partners as a Business Analyst and after 2 years, I joined Adore Me as a Finance Data Associate.

How did you get to join BCP?

I joined BCP after finishing my first-year master's studies. Throughout the application process, BCP’s exclusive focus on technology and knowledge-sharing culture was very attractive. It goes without saying that I was very excited about the opportunity to work with incredible people.

What was the most fulfilling and exciting part of your job?

During the six months, I had great exposure to the different types of transactions in interesting industries. Every day I can learn new things by working closely with senior colleagues and be prepared to take on real responsibilities which further developed my abilities in multiple areas.

What did you do after BCP and how did your role BCP help in your career?

After working on several interesting deals, I have developed my knowledge and skills in financial analysis and strategic thinking which confirms my passion in this area.

How did you get to join BCP?

I joined BCP as an analyst when I graduated from my bachelor's degree. Looking to gain work experience in investment banking, BCP attracted my interest because of its team - professional yet personable and with a great work culture, a balance which is often hard to strike.

What was the most fulfilling & exciting part of your job?

The brainstorming sessions - being pushed to thinking outside the box and more importantly, having a chance to implement the ideas you come up with. It is incredible to be given a chance to make real impact as an analyst and motivates you to improve every step of the way.

What advice would you share with someone considering a career at BCP?

It is a great opportunity to learn so ask as many questions as you can - the mentorship is something you need to make the most of at BCP. I felt I was able to learn a lot from the team; they are great at teaching and it is a central part of the culture.

What do think it was unique about BCP?

The people make the difference - it is a team you will be proud to be a part of. You are involved in every step of the transaction process, you are entrusted with responsibility from day-1 and the team is there to guide you whenever you need it. It is an energetic and collaborative culture which will motivate you and where you feel like your work truly matters.

What did you do after BCP and how did your role BCP help in your career?

I left BCP because I had received a full scholarship to study the MSc Finance program at Bocconi University, after which I joined Blackstone as an analyst in the Real Estate Acquisitions team in London.

How did you get to join BCP?

I joined BCP through an internship, which was my initial exposure to the world of investment banking. Intrigued and eager to dive deeper into the field, I was on the lookout for an enriching opportunity. BCP surfaced as the ideal platform, offering an off-cycle investment banking internship that allowed me to explore and truly understand the nuances of the industry.

What was the most fulfilling and exciting part of your job?

The breadth and diversity of the projects I got to work on made my initial exposure to this field truly enlightening. Considering the limited duration of my internship, I had the unique opportunity to engage in two distinct sectors: Real Estate and FinTech. This gave me a comprehensive view of the investment banking deal lifecycle, from initial market research and due diligence in the Real Estate project, to the negotiation and finalizing of deal structures in the FinTech project. This holistic exposure was instrumental in my career path and continues to inform my work in the industry.

What advice would you share with someone considering a career at BCP?

Brace yourself for a fast-paced and dynamic environment where intellectual curiosity is your best companion. The collaborative culture at BCP is one where every question is welcomed and every team member learns from each other. This is a place where continuous learning is not just encouraged but it is part of the fabric of the organization.

What distinguished BCP for me was its distinctive, flat organizational culture - characterized by openness, support, and a commitment to individual growth and learning. In particular, the hands-on mentoring and guidance from the Managing Director, Tudor Mafteianu, deeply impressed me. This exceptional dedication to nurturing talent is something that truly sets BCP apart.

What did you do after BCP and how did your role BCP help in your career?

Following my time at BCP, I pursued a Master's degree at London Business School and I am currently a full time Senior Operations Specialist at Bolt. The role I undertook at BCP was instrumental in shaping this journey. The practical experience and in-depth knowledge I gained at BCP served as a solid foundation for my academic pursuits and professional endeavors, equipping me with essential skills to navigate the dynamic world of investment banking.
